Golfcart ride back from Mountain #2 for Robin, Jake, and Dan. Two minutes of beauty, terror, hope, and anticipation! Well, we were on our way to happy-hour at the club house! Four people + pottery squeezed into a 2-person golfcart which struggled on the hills but eventually dropped us off at the bar. For pottery wheel students with experience: Add sizzle to your surfaces! Learn fresh slip-decoration techniques, carving/sgraffito, water-etching, image transfer & silk screen, marbling, and more! Enjoy step-by-step instruction with many surface decor techniques over six weeks. Glazing strategies & support are offered on week #6 and throughout. Instructors for this class include: Kathy Reinhart, Josh Lopez, Priscilla Gray and special guest — Tom Watson.

Thursdays, 7pm – 10pm, May 5 to Jun 9
Class includes one scheduled 3-hour class per week; open studio time during regular biz hours, choice of clay (sold separately), 40+ gorgeous food-safe glazes, and consistent firings.

This Friday Sep 2 from 5pm -10pm is the 2022 Street Mrkt in the SoFA District.

Street Mrkt is a curated DIY indie urban faire connecting our independent artists with the audiences that come out for the first Fridays ArtWalkSJ in downtown San Jose. We close down S. 1st St. in SoFA District during the ArtWalk and give local artists and creative indie businesses the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work to a great community that is seeking more arts and culture in their daily lives.

We’re saying bon voyage to long time member Mark Lurie, who’s moving back to the East Coast.

Mark has been a member since 2011!! Though Mark initially focused on the pottery wheel, he completely blossomed when he took up sculpting…! So many creative, wonderful works from this guy over the years…!
