Thur PM Historic Pottery with Emma

NEW! Are you interested in pots from the past? Are you curious how to replicate a piece from a museum and put your own spin on it? You’re in the right place! In Historic Pottery, instructor Emma Thakur takes you on a tour of vessels from Ancient Greek Amphora to Victorian Washbasins.
Students learn about different eras and cultures, and some of the techniques that still live on in contemporary pottery today. We also look at traditional glazing and surface decor techniques, learn how potters have used oxides and resists to their benefit, and how to mimic some historical surfaces.
Thursdays, 6:30pm – 9:30pm, Oct 29 to Dec 10
Enjoy one scheduled 3-hour class per week, open studio time, choice of clays sold separately, gorgeous food-safe glazes, and consistent firings in our kilns. No classes are held the weekend of Thanksgiving; this class includes 6 lessons spread over 7 weeks.
