SAGGAR FIRING WORKSHOP – AUG 14
Anthony Rollins hosts a mini-workshop on saggar firing, Sunday Aug 14 from 10am-2pm. Participants learn to prepare & fire their own pieces using aluminum foil saggars in a Raku kiln. Explore colors achievable with ferric chloride, sugar, sawdust, copper, steel wool, and Epsom salts.
Bring 3-4 pieces of small to medium-sized bisqueware, preferably made of white stoneware or porcelain, though other clays work too. Pieces that are burnished (or have terra sigillata applied) work great.
Tuition includes materials & firing, instruction & kiln supervision. Max 8 people. Extra pieces, or oversized items, may get fired for an additional cost — time & space permitting.
