Jonathan Huang – Rhytons
Join us for a 2-day hands-on workshop with Jonathan Huang, presented by Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild. Participants create unique animal-inspired Rhytons — a conical drinking vessel intended to be used in ceremony, libation, or merely at the table. A rhyton is typically fashioned in the shape of an animal’s head.
Using photos of your favorite animal/creature, Jonathan will help you sculpt your own unique drinking vessel! Participants bring printouts of reference images, including profile of the head and images of feet.
Some experience with hand-building is recommended.
