
HSIN-CHUEN LIN WORKSHOP
Hsin-Chuen Lin, master potter and YouTube phenomenon, teaches a one day hands-on workshop at Higher Fire.
Hsin shares his precision techniques for enhancing wheel-thrown surfaces:Â chattering, sgraffito, carving on the leather hard surface, creating crackle patterns with sodium silicate, and applying roller textures to cylinders before volumizing.
Hsin exhibits nationally and internationally and has won many awards. His work has been featured in Ceramics Monthly, Clay Times, The Best of Pottery, the Ceramic Design Book, Ceramic Art in Taiwan and other publications.
Working in clay has been Hsin’s passion for 40 years, with inspiration drawn from eastern culture, Chinese Shan, Zhou dynasty bronzes as well as Song dynasty’s elegant ceramics. He is also influenced by American contemporary ceramics and the ongoing freedom and spontaneity of making pots!
A bag of clay is provided for each participant.
